My profile

The answers that decide what the rest of the site shows you. Saved on this device, sent nowhere, and included in the export below.

Hides the grading schemes and examinations of other countries. An international body's belong to nobody in particular and are always shown. Leave it on every country to see everything.

Everything below it counts as behind you.

Pinned to the top of the list below.

Grading schemes I follow

Tick yours and the others are hidden across the site, badges included. Tick none and you see them all. Choosing a country above narrows this list to that country's schemes, and clears any tick it takes away.

Organisations' own guidance

Some organisations publish their own guidance on techniques, skills and sequences. Tick one to show its guidance on those pages, below the page's own description. Tick none and none is shown.

The division I compete in

Used by the competition data: what scores in your category, and where each technique sits in it. Leave it unset and you are shown the figure across all senior competition instead, which is still useful, just not yours.

Division data covers seniors only, because the IJF source currently publishes no contest results for junior, cadet or U23 events. Age-group options can be added when those results appear.

Whose video loads in the player first. Everything else keeps its usual order behind your choice, and where your provider has no video for a technique the next one available plays instead.

For a full ranking, or to hide a provider altogether, use the video providers page. Coaches can hand members a club link that sets this for them.

My judo

The ticks above are what you have been shown. This is what you actually do. A competitor usually has one forward attack they trust, one going backwards, a grip they want and an answer when they lose it.

Nothing here is counted or scored, and leaving rows empty is normal. Your coach and your randori decide what goes in it, not this site.

Kata

The prearranged forms. Gradings ask for them from 1st Kyu upward here, and which grade asks for which is on each form's own page.0 of 11 ticked.

Your training

The training diary is a page of its own: what you did session by session, against what you said a block of weeks was for. This is the summary of it.

    Open the training diary

Progress lives in your browser and nowhere else, which means a browser can clear it. Export it as a file to keep a copy that cannot be lost, or to carry it to another device. Worth doing after a grading.

Keep it on your home screen

, an icon of its own, and the one thing that protects your ticks

Any browser can give this site its own icon, on a phone's home screen or beside your other applications on a laptop. Opened from there it fills the screen with no browser bars around it, which is most of the screen back when you are reading a syllabus one-handed at the side of the mat.

It also protects what you have ticked. Your progress is kept by the browser and a browser is allowed to clear it: Safari caps this kind of storage at seven days without a visit, and Chrome and Firefox drop whole sites when a device runs short of space. Installed to a home screen, the site counts as something you have chosen to keep, and browsers exempt it.

On an iPhone or iPad, tap the Share button in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On an Android phone, open the browser's menu and choose Install app, which older versions call Add to Home screen. On a laptop, Chrome and Edge put an install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar.

It is the same site either way, not an app, though it does keep what you have read. Every page you open is stored on the device and opens again without a connection, so opening what you need before you set off is enough for a sports hall with no signal. Only the competition-day card is downloaded in advance, so a page you have never opened will not be there, and an update to the site clears what was kept and asks you to open them once more.

Flashcard decks are deliberately left out of that, being far too large to hold a copy of every one: they download as files instead, and so do the plain-text pages. Those are still what to take somewhere with no signal at all.

One thing to know on an iPhone or iPad, and only there: the icon gets its own storage, separate from Safari's, so ticks you have already made will not be in it. Export on My progress in Safari, then Import inside the new icon, and they are. An Android or laptop install shares the browser's storage, so your ticks are simply there.
