The handbook prints each in-between grade as a two-colour belt, for example White/Yellow, or under the Mon system as the lower colour with a stripe of the higher; either is allowed.

Tachi waza

Osae waza

  • kami shiho gatame: variations, entries, escapes, turnoversKami-shiho-gatame
  • Expand entry, escape and turnover repertoire
  • Previous transitions within and between techniques
  • Begin transitions from tachi waza into osae waza
  • Begin working from the guard

Shime waza

  • Age Appropriate if over 12

Kansetsu waza

  • Age Appropriate for 14 and up

Minimum age and classes (Section VII, 2021)

  • Min age 5-6 years old
  • Number of classes 30 or 3 months. TIG number of classes can be reduced for exceptional ability and or competitive record.
