O-uchi-gari into Ko-soto-gake
The inner reap moves your partner's weight backwards and outwards onto the far leg. Ko-soto-gake hooks exactly that leg from the outside while their weight is still travelling.
No demonstration linked yet, and this is one of the places footage helps most. Know a good one? Suggest a video.
Step by step
The whole sequence in words. Described in the standard right-handed form.
- Take your right grips and reap the inside of their left leg with your right leg.
- Feel them step or hop the leg free and load their weight onto their right side.
- Keep the sleeve and step your right foot down close to them.
- Hook the sole of your left foot behind the outside of their right heel.
- Drive their chest backwards with your right hand while your hooking foot holds the heel in place.
- They fall backwards over the trapped foot; keep the sleeve.
