O-uchi-gari into Ko-soto-gake

  1. O-uchi-gari大内刈
  2. Ko-soto-gake小外掛

The inner reap moves your partner's weight backwards and outwards onto the far leg. Ko-soto-gake hooks exactly that leg from the outside while their weight is still travelling.

No demonstration linked yet, and this is one of the places footage helps most. Know a good one? Suggest a video.

Step by step

The whole sequence in words. Described in the standard right-handed form.

  1. Take your right grips and reap the inside of their left leg with your right leg.
  2. Feel them step or hop the leg free and load their weight onto their right side.
  3. Keep the sleeve and step your right foot down close to them.
  4. Hook the sole of your left foot behind the outside of their right heel.
  5. Drive their chest backwards with your right hand while your hooking foot holds the heel in place.
  6. They fall backwards over the trapped foot; keep the sleeve.
