Step by step

  1. Feel their sole arrive against the inside of your foot as they attempt Ko-uchi-gari.
  2. Snatch that foot back and up rather than fighting for the ground, keeping both grips.
  3. Put it down behind you and keep your chest upright over your hips.
  4. Their weight is on their supporting leg: pull their sleeve up and across so their shoulders turn.
  5. Sweep the front of their supporting ankle with the sole of your foot as your hands turn them.
  6. They fall forward and onto their side; keep the sleeve so their head stays supported.
