combination
Ko-uchi-gari into Tai-otoshi
When the reap is answered by a backward step, the weight that returns forward can be sent over an extended leg instead. Tai-otoshi blocks rather than lifts, so it works even when they are heavy.

Step by step
The whole sequence in words. Described in the standard right-handed form.
- Take your right grips and reap their right foot inwards.
- Feel them pull the foot back and rock their weight forward again.
- Turn in on the ball of your left foot, pulling their right sleeve down and across your body.
- Step your right foot across the front of their right foot, leg straight, knee braced.
- Turn your hands like a wheel to send their chest over your extended leg.
- They tip over the block onto their back; keep the sleeve.
