combination
O-goshi into Uki-goshi
Both are hip throws off the same entry, and the difference is how much lift you ask for. If your partner drops their weight and kills the full lift, the shallower floating hip turns them instead.

Step by step
The whole sequence in words. Described in the standard right-handed form.
- Take the standard grip, then slide your right arm around their waist for O-goshi and turn in.
- Feel them drop their hips and settle their weight so you cannot lift them.
- Do not fight the lift: bring your hip only partly across, so it sits against their side rather than under them.
- Pull hard on their right sleeve with your left hand and turn your shoulders sharply to the left.
- Rotate them around your hip rather than over it, keeping your feet planted.
- They land on their back beside you; keep the sleeve to support the fall.
