Ko-uchi-gari into O-soto-gari. Combination (Renraku-waza). Techniques ---------- 1. Ko-uchi-gari (小内刈), the minor inner reap. 2. O-soto-gari (大外刈), the major outer reap. About ----- One of the first combinations most syllabuses teach: the failed inner reap makes your partner load the very leg the major outer reap takes away. Step by step (standard right-handed form) ----------------------------------------- 1. Take your right grips and reap their right foot inwards with the sole of your right foot. 2. Feel them replace the foot and settle their weight back onto it. 3. Step your left foot forward beside their right foot, toes pointing past them. 4. Pull down with the sleeve and drive the lapel hand up so their weight pins onto that right heel. 5. Swing your right leg past theirs and reap the back of their right leg sharply backwards. 6. They fall straight back; keep the sleeve and stay upright. Receiving it ------------ This is the pair most syllabuses teach first, and it works because your own defence sets it up: you replace the reaped foot, your weight settles onto it, and that is the leg the major outer reap takes. The throw is flat and quick. Keep your chin tucked, keep the held right arm long instead of posting with it, and slap the mat firmly with your free left arm as your back arrives. Their foot coming back down is felt through your sweeping sole, and their weight settling onto it is felt in your lapel hand. Step your left foot in beside their foot before you reap, so the reaping leg has a known distance to travel. From Waza Book: https://wazabook.com/combinations/ko-uchi-gari-into-o-soto-gari.txt
